PFG Collective
Bourbon & spirits collection software

Collection software

Your bottles, tracked like a portfolio.

PFG Collective gives serious collectors the same clarity over their bottles that investors have over their portfolios. Cost basis, provenance and condition as real data — not a spreadsheet column and a notes field.

Built for the collection that outgrew a spreadsheet

Most serious collectors are already doing this work by hand. A spreadsheet that started as a list of names, a folder of photos on a phone, a group chat where someone knows what a bottle actually sold for. It works until the collection gets big enough to matter.

PFG treats a collection as what it is — an asset with a cost, a current estimate and a history. Every bottle carries cost basis, provenance and condition. The collection totals the way a brokerage statement would, and discloses what it is made of rather than hiding the mix.

What we compete on

Serious inventory

Built for a collection that outgrew a spreadsheet. Every bottle carries cost basis, provenance and condition — not just a name and a photo.

Portfolio clarity

A collection is an asset. What it cost, what it is worth now, and what changed, with the same plainness a brokerage statement would use.

Judgment

Valuation is not advice. The graders answer the question a collector actually asks: is this a fair trade, is this a real deal.

Community

Prices come from people. The collectors who know what a bottle is worth are the same ones who know whether it is real.

How we handle value

There is no reliable secondary pricing source for bourbon. Listing sites run consistently overpriced. The real signal sits in collector groups, and that is not a licensable feed. Any app showing you one confident number for what your bottle is worth is guessing and not telling you.

So PFG does not show one number. Estimated value is always a range with its sources visible. Distillery and MSRP pricing is the honest anchor, available day one. Community-reported prices — what collectors actually paid — layer on top as that data accumulates.

Illustrative — not live data

A bottle with enough reports

Estimated value
$290 – $340
MSRP
$100
Your cost basis
$180
Community reports
7 bottles

Range computed from community-reported prices only. MSRP is an anchor, not an estimate — folding it in would drag the low end to a figure nobody paid.

Below three community reports, PFG states no estimate at all. The bottle reads “MSRP $100 · not enough data” and still counts toward your collection total at MSRP, with the total disclosing the mix. A single report is not evidence, and we would rather show you nothing than something confident and wrong.

What PFG does not do

Worth saying plainly, because several of these are things a collection app could easily claim.

  • We do not authenticate bottles. There is no reliable way to confirm a bottle is genuine without lab methods or brand cooperation, and the hardest fakes are refills of real bottles. A confident “authentic” verdict from us would be a liability, not a feature.
  • We do not buy or sell bottles, and we are not a marketplace. Every US state requires a licence to sell alcohol. PFG does not facilitate transactions between collectors.
  • We do not tell you to drink it or sell it. PFG reports value and rarity. What you do with a bottle is yours to decide.
  • We do not appraise. Estimated value is an estimate from disclosed sources. It is not an appraisal and is not financial advice.

Where this is

PFG Collective is in active development, built and tested against real collections. Manual bottle entry, local storage and full collection export are working today. Scanning, community pricing and the graders follow.

An iPhone release is the first target, with a desktop version at launch — collectors who keep a spreadsheet work on a desktop, and shipping without one would downgrade the workflow we are trying to replace.
